His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, announced the launch of the “Who Like My Mother” initiative to honor Emirati mothers who made exceptional sacrifices.

His Highness said in a tweet via Twitter: “Mother is mercy… Mother is blessing… Mother is heaven… Mother is a door from the gates of heaven… Emirati mothers with exceptional sacrifices, whom we chose to honor in the month of Ramadan in front of the UAE community and the world… with our launch of the “Who” initiative. Like my mother, “as part of Mohammed bin Rashid’s initiatives… all the best for everyone.”

The “Who Like My Mother” initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, may God protect him, which aims to honor Emirati mothers with their exceptional sacrifices, coinciding with Mother’s Day, reflects the extent of appreciation enjoyed by the “mother” in the UAE, and the position firmly established in the conscience of His Highness. And the conscience of the Emirati people.

By following the path of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we find the depth of his connection with his mother, may God have mercy on her, and his book “My Story” included two stories titled “Latifa 1” and “Latifa 2”, as both of them reflect the depth of His Highness’s pride in his mother, and his pride in every detail of her personality. Where His Highness says: “Every son talks about peace and tranquility in the face of his mother..but my mother was all peace and tranquility.”

The interest of the wise leadership in the UAE at all levels in motherhood and its central role in society, through the establishment of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood in 2003, is an important step in the process of supporting the Emirati child and mother and raising the level of services provided to them, especially the educational, cultural, health, social and psychological sectors. and pedagogical.

And to complement the efforts exerted in supporting and empowering motherhood, the Council worked to establish partnerships with regional and international organizations. Its partnerships included the International Family Organization, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Arab Women’s Organization, the Arab Family Organization, and others to develop the work system and provide the best possible care.

The state’s efforts did not stop at that, as it adopted the National Strategy for Motherhood and Childhood 2017-2021, which includes many goals and objectives that serve the mother and child in their entirety, and provide all aspects of support and care for them, as directed by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”. President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, in March 2018, by preparing the strategy “The UAE is friendly to mothers, children and adolescents”, which targets all children, adolescents and mothers in the country, with the aim of promoting the right of children and mothers to comprehensive care within an environment sustainable health.

The launch of the “Mother of the Emirates” for the “Sheikha Fatima Award for Motherhood and Childhood” is a qualitative addition, another appreciation and well-deserved honor, and a dedication to the importance of the mother and child in Emirati society, and a continuation of the historical march launched by the founding fathers, whose torch was carried by the children.

In addition to these efforts, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima established, in 2020, an academic research center concerned with motherhood and childhood research, “Fatima Bint Mubarak Center for Motherhood and Childhood Research”, based in the United Arab Emirates University, to achieve the vision of the UAE 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071 in the field of maternal and child development, By creating a data bank and research base to benefit from it in policy making, legislation development and plans building.

The UAE mother country paid a great deal of attention, care and support, and provided her with job opportunities and enabled her through an umbrella of legislation and laws to create a state of balance between her responsibilities as a mother and an employee, so she was the best nanny, and the best teacher, doctor, minister and ambassador, and from here the UAE is keen to participate in the celebration of the occasion On the 21st of March every year, as the celebration has become an annual tradition to celebrate the accomplished and exemplary mother, and to emphasize her pivotal role as a symbol of sacrifice, sincerity, giving and devotion.
